Quartz heat resistance. Quartz is resistant to heat but if the temperature gets to too high you can damage your quartz countertop. Quartz countertops are a durable and luxurious surface but it s not indestructible. A quartz countertop can sustain damage when it is subject to really high temperatures. While quartz will not burn from the smallest amount of heat you should not expose the surface to excessive heat.
The stone itself can tolerate a high degree of heat but the resin used in the quartz cannot. Natural quartz material is combined with a special resin epoxy glue to form a countertop. That means quartz countertops and heat aren t the best combination especially high temperatures like those from a hot pot you take directly off of the stove. These countertops are heat resistant not scorch proof.
Vadara quartz is a heat resistant surface but it is not heat proof. Extremely high temperatures can affect the resins in quartz though quartz can withstand temperatures from 150 degrees and then some but that temperature range will depend on the quartz manufacturer and brand. Anything over 150 degrees fahrenheit can permanently damage your counter. High heat resistance to hot pots and other cookware very hot cookware can cause discoloration wide range of colors.
Soapstone countertops offer granite alternative. An engineered stone made from quartz crystals and resin quartz countertops are very durable and easy to maintain. Quartz may be resistant to heat but it is not heat proof. The reason is in the resin.
Quartz is heat resistant. Quartz is highly resistant to scorching but not as resistant to harm as granite. Although quartz resists damage from heat extremely high temperatures can cause damage to the resins. Placing hot objects on a quartz countertop such as hot pans and hot pots can cause significant damage.
Heat resistance is a feature of quartz but it is important to understand that because quartz is an engineered stone countertop it includes resin fillers which are not heat resistant. If the resin is heated too high it can discolor and turn white.
